To empower VoIP providers to take advantage of the new FCC rules allowing VoIP providers direct access to local numbers by doing all the regulatory and filing requirements.
With 30+ years in telecom, we are a leading authority on issues in numbering and the future of numbering access.
EARLY ADOPTERS AND SUCCESS
Vonage was first and an ALC Consulting client was second. Then came AT&T and then another few ALC clients. No company has filed more application for access to numbering resources.
FORMER COMMITEE MEMBERS
ALC Consulting’s principle, Aelea Christofferson, has served on the North American Numbering Council, on several ATIS committees, and on the LNP Working Group.
RECORD OF SUCCESS
ALC Consulting has successfully filed on behalf of a rapidly growing number of VoIP providers over the past years, and every application filed has been accepted.
REQUIREMENTS FOR VOIP PROVIDERS
In order for VoIP providers to successfully file for direct numbering access, they will need to ensure that the are “network ready” as defined by the FCC. ALC Consulting helps to bring all of the pieces together to ensure each application with the FCC is accepted.
Part of this process involves working with a significant number of government agencies, including the FCC, NPAC, NANPA, among several others. We make sure all the moving parts in this process are taken into account and managed appropriately. Each case is unique, and so requires a slightly different approach.
WE MAKE SURE ALL THE MOVING PARTS IN THE PROCESS ARE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT AND MANAGED APPROPRIATELY. EACH CASE IS UNIQUE, AND SO REQUIRES A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT APPROACH.
Aelea Christofferson, Principle
Aelea Christofferson is one of the leading authorities on numbering issues in telecom, both in regards to toll free and local numbers. In the 1990’s, she helped to craft the design and implementation that brought number portability to toll free numbers and created Responsible Organizations (RespOrgs). For the past fifteen years, she has been working to expand the availability of local numbers beyond the historical carrier control. She served on the committee that recommended to the FCC to pass a report and order to allow VoIP providers to have access to local number directly and not be forced to acquire numbers from other vendors. She now works to inform and assist VoIP providers in using this new regulatory option.
Ms. Christofferon launched ATL Communications from the corner of her bedroom in 1991 and over the next 23 years grew the company to be the largest, most successful RespOrg. She sold the company in 2014 and spent a eighteen months working in the conversion. She left ATL in June 2016.
I’m always looking forward to my next adventure.
